BAIKONUR
2018
Baikonur now APXIV with with the support of The Austrian Cultural Forum Moscow
The viewer got into the space between the video performance from the Baikonur cinema, and on the other, the installations with the live performance. These two parts continued each other.
A cinema without films is a non-living structure, the installation is scattered objects.
The Baikonur cinema, founded in Soviet times ( and has the same name with the Soviet Union cosmodrome), is the center of propaganda of ideas about the future.
The factory where the exhibition was held - NIIDAR - is also not a simple place from the point of view of Soviet industry. (NIIDAR - the radiocommunication research institute)
In this work, the search is important it is as our position of interaction with the bygone ideas of the Soviet Union.
This work is about the interaction of a person with objects on an equal, about how we trying to find a place. How we rethinking our position with the past. As part of the Baikonur project, I created a laboratory where I
and other artists, performers explored abandoned spaces in an urban environment looked for opportunities interaction.
